In 1961, Dr. Dieter Schöne opened the Park-Apotheke (Park pharmacy) in Berlin-Wilmersdorf. Previous to this, he was a production manager in industry and had already developed a series of products during this time.

Besides opening the pharmacy, Dr. Schöne also founded SteriPharm Pharmazeutische Produkte GmbH in 1981. Using his experience as a production manager, he initially developed aqueous solutions for various application areas.

As early as the 1990s, SteriPharm recognised the importance of folic acid for the human organism and consistently made this a focal point in terms of development activities and products.

At the end of 2002, Dr. Schöne’s daughter, Dr. Franziska Coenders, likewise a pharmacist as well as a mother of four children, was appointed as a further managing director.

New folic acid products followed, making today’s company into a specialist in the area of folic acid / the B vitamins.

Through changing the corporate form of SteriPharm at the end of 2004 to become a GmbH & Co. KG (limited partnership with a limited liability company as a general partner), Dr. Schöne created an independent, private family enterprise.
